Get ready. We are the first coffee shop in North America to offer this coffee! Coffee of the Geisha varietal is one of the most sought after coffees in the world. We will be featuring this coffee on our brew bar and also for whole bean sale for around $23. The price is a little higher than our regular prices, but is an exceptionally great deal considering Geisha often sells for over $100 a pound! The tasting notes of this coffee are apricot, peaches, molasses, juicy fruit, and jasmine. We only have a limited supply, so hurry in next week and give it a try, you definitely won’t want to miss out on this amazing coffee.
Also, are you wanting to purchase a home brewing device but not sure where to start? Look no further! Here are some tips on how to choose the one you’re looking for.
The Chemex or Clever
These two brew methods will offer the cleanest cup of coffee because they require paper filters! So, if you don’t like a lot of fines in the bottom of your cup, either of these will be perfect for you! Both produce a very crisp, balanced, clean cup of coffee allowing plenty of room to taste each flavor clearly.
If you like the French press and want to try something similar, we suggest you buy the aeropress with a disk metal filter. The metal filter allows all of the oils to be extracted and leaves your cup with a rich, full body, but without a ton of coffee grounds at the bottom like the French press can often produce. This method is really easy to travel with and can also be used with paper filters if you prefer!
The Sock Pot
This method is the middleman between paper and metal filters! The sock filter still allows some of the oils through for a creamier body, but leaves a cleaner feel than a metal filter. We suggest this device if you find yourself in the middle of the spectrum between a really clean cup and a full bodied cup!
I hope this can be a helpful tool for anyone searching to buy coffee or coffee equipment. I know it can be pretty overwhelming trying to navigate your way through so many different options. I also encourage you to ask your Palace barista for further help when purchasing coffee or equipment. We can show you where to find exactly what you need and how to use it! Happy Holidays everyone!
